Please regularly check this website for weekly updates about what we are doing in class. I teach 4 different classes of ESL during the day:
1. ESL Level 1 Center: This level is for students that have newly arrived to the United States and need help with basic communication, letter/sound recognition, and beginning reading and writing.
2. ESL Level 2: This level is for students that have a foundation of English skills, but continue to need instruction with both social and academic vocabulary.
3. ESL Level 1-2 combined: Both of the above classes have an additional hour with me with all students from the 2 classes together. We will be focusing on reading and writing while applying our skills in context.
4. ESL Level 4: This is the highest level of ESL that is offered. It is usually referred to as English Skills Lab because most students are either bilingual or even native English speakers. Students are already proficient with social language to talk with family and friends, but may struggle with language within the academic context. This class will support their reading and writing skills while developing academic vocabulary in the areas of math, science, and social studies.
Students should have a syllabus with more information, but please check out the other tabs on this website for contact information and useful websites. Please feel free to contact me at anytime! I absolutely love my job because I love my students! If you need assistance (or translation - SPANISH), please let me know and I will be happy to help!
Thanks! I am looking forward to an AWESOME year together!
